West Bromwich Albion have been linked with a move for Northern Ireland boss Michael O’Neill should they part company with Tony Pulis.

West Brom fans have been reacting on Twitter after the Baggies were linked with a move for Northern Ireland boss Michael O’Neill by the Daily Mirror at the weekend as the pressure mounts on Tony Pulis.
West Brom are swiftly moving towards the relegation zone in the Premier League. Their 4-0 defeat against Chelsea at The Hawthorns on Saturday meant that they still have not won a game since August, and the Mirror reports that Pulis is in serious danger of losing his job.

O’Neill has done a stunning job with the country. He guided them to the finals of Euro 2016 last year and took them to the play-offs during the World Cup qualifiers – where only a terrible penalty decision in the first-leg against Switzerland could deny them reaching Russia next year.

Nevertheless, the news linking O’Neill with the post – though The Telegraph have more recently suggested that no approach or contact has been made with O’Neill – has received a largely negative reaction from the fans on social media.
O’Neill has no experience of managing a club side in England and – while he did a fantastic job with the players available to him – his Northern Ireland side did not always play the most expansive football, and that has left supporters feeling uninspired.
Here is the best of the reaction…
