Newcastle United are reportedly hoping that they will be able to convince West Brom to sell Salomon Rondon permanently in January.

A number of West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports emerging from The Northern Echo which have suggested that Newcastle are keen to discuss a permanent move for Salomon Rondon in January.
The Magpies and Baggies managed to agree a striker loan swap during the summer, with Rondon heading to St James’ Park and Dwight Gayle joining the Championship side. The Northern Echo reports that Newcastle were not keen to trigger the Venezuelan’s £16.5 million release clause.
However, it appears that the Magpies have changed their stance on Rondon. The Northern Echo reports that Rafa Benitez is now keen to discuss a permanent move in January, which would also free up a loan spot within his squad.
The Echo adds that allowing Gayle to join West Brom permanently could boost Newcastle’s hopes of agreeing a deal. And it appears that many Baggies fans feel that that could be a move that Darren Moore should not refuse.

Gayle has been a fantastic signing for West Brom. He has scored nine goals in just 14 appearances in the Championship, and many fans clearly feel that keeping the 28-year-old would be more beneficial than bringing Rondon back into the fold.
Rondon did well during his time at The Hawthorns. But it appears that sanctioning a permanent swap involving the two strikers would go down extremely well amongst the West Brom fans.
