West Bromwich Albion have confirmed that they have signed Ahmed Hegazi on a permanent basis.

West Brom fans have been expressing their delight on social media after the club confirmed on their official website that they have now signed Ahmed Hegazi on a permanent basis.
Hegazi arrived at The Hawthorns in the summer on loan with an option to buy, and he certainly proved to be an excellent addition for the Baggies – quickly establishing himself as a stalwart of the side under Tony Pulis and maintaining that status after Alan Pardew replaced the Welshman earlier in the campaign.

Despite having the option to buy, West Brom fans would have been forgiven for being nervous after ESPN reported at the end of last month that both Liverpool and Leicester City were keen on poaching him from their Premier League rivals.
But the Baggies have now confirmed the news that most fans wanted to hear on their official website that Hegazi has joined the club on a permanent basis and has signed a contract that will run until 2022.

Unsurprisingly, the news has gone down extremely well on Twitter. The centre-back has been one of the Baggies’ best players this season and will undoubtedly play a crucial role if the team are to drag themselves away from danger in the top flight.
With the side looking for their first win since August, Pardew will certainly be hoping that Hegazi committing his future to the club gives the team the boost they need to get their season back on track.
Here is the best of the reaction…
