West Bromwich Albion are reportedly keen on Michael O’Neill.

West Bromwich Albion’s hunt for a new manager continues, with more and more names being linked with the Hawthorns job.

The Baggies controversially sacked Darren Moore in March despite sitting fourth in the Championship table, and fans have been left frustrated with the ensuing events.

Rather than have an immediate replacement lined up, West Brom handed James Shan the reins on an interim basis, and then missed out on Preston’s Alex Neil.

Shan took charge of the playoff campaign but couldn’t get past Aston Villa in the semi-finals, and West Brom will now look to make a permanent appointment ahead of the summer transfer window,

Chris Hughton is a main name mentioned, but the Express & Star note that a move for Northern Ireland boss Michael O’Neill is expected this week as the Baggies seek talks with him.

O’Neill, 49, has limited club management experience, but has worked wonders with Northern Ireland, not only guiding them to Euro 2016, but taking them into the knockout stages of the competition.

It remains to be seen just how strong of a candidate O’Neill is, but fans have already had their say, with many West Brom supporters taking to Twitter to share their disappointment.

Some believe that O’Neill is a sign that West Brom are really scraping the barrel, praying that it’s a joke or a wind up that the Baggies even want him, with one fan stating that the managerial search is getting worse.
