West Bromwich Albion defender Ahmed Hegazi took some plaudits from the fans, despite the heavy defeat.

West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to praise Ahmed Hegazi’s performance, as well as his overall form, despite the defender being a part of the team that were comfortably beaten by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
With Swansea, Huddersfield, Newcastle and West Ham all winning at the weekend, the Baggies went into their game with the Blues seven points off safety with 12 games left.

Unfortunately for Alan Pardew, Chelsea had little sympathy for their situation and secured a 3-0 win that may help alleviate some of the pressure on Antonio Conte’s shoulders, while heaping more misery on West Brom.
It was a hugely disappointing night where the Baggies gave the travelling fans little to smile about, especially with January signing Daniel Sturridge limping off with injury inside the first three minutes.

One player who did emerge from the game with some credit was Hegazi. The defender is undoubtedly a leading contender to be considered West Brom’s player of the season, and he managed to impress some of the fans once again.
The Egyptian seemed to show some of the fight that the supporters were not sure was present in a number of his teammates, and even demonstrated his class with a nice run in the second-half which came to nothing when Jay Rodriguez decided to pass the ball back and start the move all over again.
Here is some of the reaction to Hegazi’s display against Chelsea…
