The Baggies desperately needed a result given that they sit bottom of the Premier League table, and made the perfect start when Oliver Burke crossed for Salomon Rondon to score.
However, that’s as good as it got for West Brom, as Jamie Vardy expertly volleyed home Riyad Mahrez’s raking pass, before Mahrez himself put Leicester in front.
Kelechi Iheanacho bagged a third for the Foxes, and Victor Iborra headed home a late fourth as the visitors left with all three points in a thumping win.
West Brom sit eight points adrift of safety and look doomed right now, with manager Alan Pardew under mounting pressure as the Baggies hover above the Premier League’s trap door.
Pardew took a gamble by starting winger Oliver Burke, a £15million summer signing from RB Leipzig (The Guardian) who had started just one Premier League game before Saturday.
The 20-year-old has major potential, and having notched an early assist, fans took to Twitter to suggest that he was the shining light and star performer for West Brom on another dismal day, with many already looking forward to seeing how he fares in the Championship next season.
However, others didn’t quite see the hype with Burke, suggesting that he was ‘rubbish’ and plays like he’s daydreaming, leaving him with plenty of developing to do before he can really be considered a key player at The Hawthorns.
