West Bromwich Albion have confirmed the signing of defender Tyrone Mears.

West Bromwich Albion have today added a new signing, as right back Tyrone Mears has arrived on a short-term contract.
The Baggies have made a decent enough start to the season under Darren Moore, but one position has been something of a problem, with Moore still searching for a clear first-choice right back.
Manchester City loanee Tosin Adarabioyo is more of a centre back and hasn’t looked entirely comfortable there, and Craig Dawson only made his first appearance of the season on Friday.
Now, Moore has moved to add another option at right back, as Tyrone Mears has penned a short-term contract with the club, and could make his debut in the Carabao Cup against Accrington Stanley this evening.
Mears, 35, was a free agent after leaving Minnesota United earlier this month, bringing an end to his time in MLS after stints with Seattle Sounders and Atlanta United.
The right back had spells with Manchester City, Preston North End, West Ham United, Derby County, Marseille, Burnley and Bolton Wanderers before heading to the United States, and reunites with Moore having played together at Derby.

At 35, Mears is hardly the most exciting signing of all time, and Baggies fans appear to be furious with the signing judging by their instant reaction on Twitter to the deal.
West Brom supporters have accused the club of a lack of ambition having needed a right back for some time yet can only bring in a free agent in the latter stages of his career, with some claiming that Moore is just signing ‘one of his mates’ and criticising the club for signing a veteran after allowing Gareth McAuley and Claudio Yacob to leave.
