A number of West Bromwich Albion fans have taken to Twitter to comment on an eye-opening statistic shared by the Baggies channel involving Hawthorns summer signing Romaine Sawyers.

As reported by the West Brom Twitter feed, the 27-year-old has the highest pass success percentage of all Championship players who have played in each of the seven league fixtures so far, at an impressive 92.1 percent.

Sawyers has been crucial for Slaven Bilic’s side this term, helping the Baggies remain unbeaten in the league so far and in the top six of the table.

Whoscored corroborated the statistic on their website, with only Tim Ream of Fulham – who has missed one league game – above the Baggies ace in that particular table, and for quite a few Albion fans it comes as no surprise.

In July, Sawyers returned to the club where he came through the ranks, signing a three-year contract after being bought from Brentford – where he was captain – for an undisclosed fee reported to be £2.9 million (Express & Star).

Prior to his return to West Brom, Sawyers had joined the Bees from Walsall in 2016 and made 123 appearances for the Londoners, scoring eight goals.
