The West Bromwich Albion stopper has been a consistent performer over the past few years.

West Brom goalkeeping coach Neil Cutler raved about the quality of Ben Foster, when speaking exclusively to the Express & Star, and insisted that the veteran stopper can still get even better.

Foster, 34, has played in all but one of the Baggies’ 29 Premier League games so far this season, and has impressed with his consistency, in spite of his side’s woeful league campaign this season.

The Englishman joined West Brom from Birmingham initially on a one year loan deal in the summer of 2011, before making his switch to the Hawthorns a permanent one the following year.

Foster has gone on to keep 54 clean sheets in 214 appearances for the Baggies – a fairly impressive record considering his side’s perennial struggles.

West Brom’s goalkeeping coach Neil Cutler offered high words of praise for the eight-capped England international, when speaking exclusively to the Express & Star, and insisted that he still has the potential to improve further still:

“I think he can [get better] without a doubt. He’s still got little details that I can work on and he can bring into his game can make him even better. He’s so athletic, he’s so quick around the goal, so powerful. If we can work on his shape a little bit more, which he’s buying into, he can be even better. I’m trying to push him, I don’t want him to coast, I don’t want him to just be. At 35 you need to keep being tested, you don’t want to come in and go home, you want to come in and learn something and develop.”

The Baggies face a hugely important game at home to Leicester City on Saturday, and Foster will have to be at his very best, if his side are to have any chance of taking maximum points from the match.
