West Bromwich Albion host West Ham United this weekend.
West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis believes upcoming opponents West Ham United are a top side who made some good signings during the summer transfer window, the club’s official website report.
The Hammers have started the season in disappointing fashion, crashing out of the Europa League qualifying rounds and picking up just three points from their opening four Premier League matches.
Many tipped Slaven Bilic’s side to mount a challenge for the top four this season, but injuries to key players and their failure to buy a top-class forward in the summer has left them playing catch-up.
Pulis, however, believes his West Brom side are in for a tough match this weekend as he labels the Hammers a very good side who have invested well in the playing squad.
“It will be a tough game, West Ham are a good side and they’ve got some good players. They have invested well but all the games in the Premier League are tough games,” Pulis told the Baggies’ official website.
“The games come thick and fast and there are all different kinds of problems they can cause you, but we’ve just got to make sure we concentrate on what we’re doing.”
West Brom won their opening game of the season at Crystal Palace but since then they have managed to pick up just one point from their last three matches – a 0-0 draw at home to Middlesbrough.
While West Ham have struggled to keep the goals out this season, West Brom’s problem has been finding the net and their two goals scored in four matches is the lowest in the top-flight.
Both clubs were left frustrated during the transfer window, and now both are in need of a morale-boosting win.
