West Brom boss Darren Moore comments on Harvey Barnes future

Harvey Barnes joined West Bromwich Albion on loan Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

West Bromwich Albion manager Darren Moore has suggested to The Birmingham Mail that he does not expect Harvey Barnes to return to Leicester City in the January transfer window.

Barnes joined West Brom on a season-long loan deal from Premier League club Leicester in the summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old midfielder has made 23 starts in the Championship for the Baggies so far this season, scoring nine goals and providing six assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

West Brom manager Moore has suggested that he does not expect Leicester to recall the England Under-21 international in January.

Moore told The Birmingham Mail about Barnes: “As far as I’m concerned Harvey is enjoying his football here. For the foreseeable future I don’t see anything.

“We’re very hopeful that Harvey can continue playing the football that he’s playing and continue playing with West Brom. I’ve not heard anything, but you know what football’s like.”

Positive for West Bromwich Albion

With West Brom challenging for automatic promotion to the Premier League, they need to keep hold of important players such as Barnes for the second half of the 2018-19 campaign.

The Leicester-owned midfielder is an integral part of Moore’s team, and if the Foxes recall him next month, then it is going to be tough for the Baggies to find a suitable replacement.
