Reading chief executive Ron Gourlay has refused to rule out the sale of Liam Moore during the January transfer window, although says any deal has to be right for the club.

As Get Reading reports, both West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United have shown interest in Moore and while Gourlay doesn’t want to see the player leave, has left it open for a potential move.

“Anybody who leaves the club will be because it’s right for the player and right for the club,” he said.

After reaching the playoff final last season, losing out to Huddersfield Town on penalties at Wembley Stadium, the Royals have failed to emulate that success so far this term.

The Berkshire club are currently 18th in the Championship table after 26 games and 15 points from the top six and only four above the relegation zone.

However, despite his team’s struggles Moore has continued to impress and has not missed a single minute of league action in 2017/18.

The performances of the 24-year-old have caught the eye of the Premier League and there is clearly a chance the defender could depart the Madejski Stadium before the window shuts.
