West Bromwich Albion fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Newcastle United-owned striker Dwight Gayle against Stoke City.
Gayle, who joined West Brom on loan from Premier League club Newcastle in the summer of 2018, featured for the Baggies in their Championship game against Stoke away from home at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday evening.
The 29-year-old striker started the match and played until the third minute of injury time, as Darren Moore’s team won 1-0.
It was the former Crystal Palace striker’s goal in the 25th minute that proved to be the difference between the two teams.
Against Stoke on Saturday evening, Gayle took one shot from which he scored, had a pass accuracy of 79.2%, and made one tackle and one interception, according to WhoScored.
Gayle has made 20 starts and five substitute appearances in the Championship for the Baggies so far this season, scoring 16 goals and providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
