Oliver Burke will be hoping to be a part of the West Bromwich Albion side that take on Nottingham Forest in the Championship next month.

The Baggies are gearing up for their first season in the second tier since 2010 following their relegation from the Premier League. And Burke will certainly be hoping that he can make a much greater impact, after struggling for game-time during his first year at The Hawthorns.
As it happens, his first return to Forest since his £13 million exit is scheduled to take place before the new campaign is even a week old. And ahead of the contest, the Scotland international expressed his excitement and offered an insight into what his plans will be if he manages to find the back of the net against Aitor Karanka’s men.
“It’ll be really nice, there will be some familiar faces and I have some really good friends playing for Nottingham Forest,” he said, as reported by the Daily Record. “It’ll be really nice to go back and hopefully it’s a nice welcome.

“It’s about respect. If I score, I score. Inside I’ll be happy, but outside I’ll try to tone it down.”
It would be little surprise if Burke does feature much more prominently during the coming season. There were certainly more glimpses of his potential during the latter stages of the last campaign, and he showed during his time with Forest that he has the potential to tear Championship defenders apart if he finds his best form.

However, Forest’s transfer window thus far suggests that Karanka’s men will not make life easy for the 21-year-old. It is perhaps fair to say that only Stoke City have shown as much ambition in the market to this point, and Forest will probably be backed by many to be real promotion contenders this season.
If the Baggies manage to keep their current squad together, they should also find themselves in the mix. So the clash between the two sides at the City Ground could perhaps provide an early indication as to who may be in the driving seat in the promotion race.
