The Dutch star continues to make overtures about a move, we think that ship has sailed and he should find an alternative Inter escape route.
Oh no! He’s been at it again.
Sneijder has been reported in the Daily Mail today as saying he would have been very tempted to go to Manchester United had a deadline day offer come in.
He should have been a bit more open to the move last summer, and dropped his wage demands, if he was so tempted. If he had he could have been at Old Trafford now.
Even then, wasn’t he the one who declared he would be staying at Inter in January?
The world of Wesley Sneijder just gets more and more confusing by the week.
He has endured a pretty miserable season at Inter so far, thanks to a combination of poor form and injuries. He has also had two different managers to acclimatise to through the season.
All of which makes his decision to stay at Inter last summer, a lot worse.
He had a chance to join United last summer, I don’t think either club will be able to deny talks took place.
But United while supposedly ready to sanction a transfer fee, got cold feet over Sneijder’s excessive wage demands which would have ended up doubling any deal.
Now although only 27, we can’t see him heading to Old Trafford.
Manchester United will have moved on and started identifying targets for next summer already, and we doubt they include Sneijder.
They will be looking at younger players with the hunger to achieve the success that Sneijder has already attained at World Cup and Champions league level, not somebody who has been there and done it.
– Are we wrong, do you think United will be looking at Sneijder again or should he just drop it?
