Newcastle United are reportedly pushing to sign Wesley.

According to The Chronicle, Club Brugge striker Wesley is ‘excited’ about the prospect of signing for Newcastle United this summer.
Wesley, 22, has impressed in Belgium since arriving from Slovakian side Trencin in January 2016, excelling in front of goal and with his link-up play.
The Brazilian hit 17 goals in all competitions this season, as well as picking up 10 assists, and he was seen leaving the pitch in tears last week having seemingly played his final game for Club Brugge.
Just days ago, Wesley’s agent Paulo Nehmy told The Laziali that Newcastle are interested in the target man, but it depended on manager Rafael Benitez renewing his contract.
Now, The Chronicle claim that a source close to Wesley has told them that ‘direct contact’ has been made with Benitez, who is pushing for a deal to go through.

Newcastle will allegedly have to pay £16million for the striker, and Wesley is understood to be ‘excited’ to play for the Magpies in order to fulfil his Premier League dream.
The ramped up pursuit of Wesley may hint that Newcastle won’t be signing loanee Salomon Rondon permanently, but landing both would be a real statement of intent for the Magpies, bolstering the striking options at St James’ Park.
