Villa got the better of Everton 2-0 at Villa Park in the Premier League on Friday evening.
Wesley scored the opening goal of the match in the 21st minute and had a good game overall.
According to WhoScored, the 22-year-old – who joined Villa from Club Brugge in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £22 million – took two shots of which one ended in a goal, had a pass accuracy of 80%, won two headers, made one tackle, and played two key passes.
Wesley was impressed with the Villa fans and has spoken highly of the Villa Park faithful.
The Brazilian told BBC Sport: “The noise was incredible, the supporters were unbelievable and I hope they continue like this to help us.”
Positive performance
Wesley did not play particularly well in his opening two Premier League games for Villa, but against Everton on Friday evening, the youngster came into his own.
The 22-year-old held the ball up well, brought others into play, and was a problem for the Everton defence throughout.
