From the outside looking in, it is a bit odd that Wesley Bryan has not made his move to LIV Golf official yet.
Bryan is an interesting character in the golf world. He has had success before, having won the RBC Heritage back in 2017. But lately, his career has been more about trying to stay on tour than contending for titles.
His battle to break into the top 125 was one of the stories worth following during autumn in 2024.
Despite this, the PGA Tour suspended Bryan in early 2025 because he participated in a LIV Duels event.
Wesley Bryan comments on whether he has ever received an offer from LIV Golf

Some people believed that the suspension was the right decision. However, with the Saudi-backed league still struggling to sign big names, it made a permanent move to LIV look much more likely.
Bryan’s YouTube channel, run alongside his brother George, had 771,000 subscribers at the time of writing. Few players outside of golf’s elite have a bigger audience than that.
Speaking on Dan on Golf about his suspension, Bryan said there has never been any serious talk of joining LIV.
“Never once has it been offered to me to join a team, join as an individual. The only time I got an actual offer and a phone call was to be an alternate on site after we had filmed The Duels and a couple of people got sick from one of the teams. They were like, ‘hey, are you still in town to potentially be an alternate or whatever those things are called?’ So, that’s it. I’ve had no direct conversations about being on any teams,” he began by saying.
“Jokingly I offered Jon Rahm $1 million cash to join his team when it first got announced. Was it a joke? Maybe not, I probably would have paid it to join his team, one of my best buds. That’s about as serious a conversation as ever been had about me joining the competitive league that, again, tried to come in and take a lot of the PGA Tour players and eyeballs and spread some of the media rights thin, which they should protect their media rights. The collective group of players is what makes those media rights so valuable and that’s the biggest revenue driver for the PGA Tour.
“In my situation, I have no bearing or effect on media rights as I’m not even shown on the top telecast anyway. I’m not competitive at the top of every leaderboard like some of the ones who played a huge part in going over to LIV.”
LIV Golf have made a huge mistake with Wesley Bryan
LIV Golf may have missed an opportunity by not reaching out to Bryan over the past two years.
While LIV managed to attract several high-profile players when it launched in 2022, the league has found it increasingly difficult to lure top talent away from the PGA Tour.
Even though Bryan seems more focused on his YouTube career these days, he still would have brought a substantial following to LIV. His profile is much larger than many of the journeymen the league has signed recently.
LIV also could have capitalised on the narrative around Bryan’s suspension and the perceived unfair treatment by the PGA Tour.
It is odd that there was no real effort from LIV to get him on board, given all these factors.
