Wesley Bryan has made it clear that he is not happy with the PGA Tour.

He’s a former PGA Tour player turned content creator who was suspended indefinitely for featuring in a LIV Golf YouTube event. Bryan said he had made peace with this until Brooks Koepka was allowed back on the PGA Tour, and he wasn’t.

Koepka, a five-time major winner, decided to leave LIV Golf and was allowed to return to the PGA Tour immediately, provided he donate $5 million to a charitable cause and accept several other conditions. Meanwhile, Bryan, who has been attempting to return, has not been allowed to.

Because of this, he recently called the PGA Tour leadership ‘muppets’, and named the person that he would like to see in charge.

Wesley Bryan says Mark Cuban should run the PGA Tour

Bryan filmed a lie detector video with Takomo Golf, and was asked what he thinks about the PGA Tour’s leadership. He replied: “As the New Zealand squad would say, I think that most of them are muppets.”

He was then asked who he thinks should run the tour instead, and he named billionaire former owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban.

Bryan explained, “George and I were actually talking about this. I think if you had somebody that was outside of golf, but in sport.

“If you had someone like Mark Cuban come in and run, that’s business savvy, sports savvy, and very influential, I think that someone like him would be a fantastic leader of the organization.”

Cuban was once the highly successful majority owner of the Dallas Mavericks, leading the team to the 2011 NBA Championship, and is now a lead investor in the Indiana Hoosiers’ college football team, which just won the National Championship.

He’s an experienced sports team owner, but has no experience in running a league, so it would be a step into the deep end for him.

What Mark Cuban said about players joining LIV Golf

Whether he’d be a good leader of the PGA Tour or not, it’s clear that Cuban would be on Bryan’s side of this debate.

When speaking about PGA Tour players signing with LIV Golf, he said on the Full Send Podcast, “There’s a price for everything.

“Here’s the way I look at it from a golfer’s perspective, you know, you bust your ass and you – there’s complete uncertainty. You don’t know how much you’re gonna make.

“Maybe you have some sponsors, maybe you’re doing some deals, and that’s great. You’re making some money, but you have a limited lifespan in your golf career.”

He continued, “If you’re apolitical, you’re not really into politics one way or the other, and someone offers you 30, 40, 50 million dollars, your family’s more important than what the media’s gonna say about you”.

Cuban is a highly successful businessman, so it’s not surprising to see him come out on this side of the debate. And it’s also not surprising that Bryan wants him in charge of the tour, because he’d be back straight away!
