Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham has commented on the club’s Old Firm derby defeat.

Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham has taken to Twitter in order to send a message to the club’s supporters after the 5-1 defeat to Celtic.
The Gers were playing their first Old Firm derby in the league since 2012, but having beaten Celtic in the Scottish Cup back in April, Mark Warburton’s men travelled to Celtic Park with hope of springing another upset.

However, they were thoroughly outmatched throughout, with a first-half brace from Moussa Dembele putting Celtic in cruise control, though Rangers did hit back with a goal from Joe Garner before half time.
Celtic re-asserted their dominance after the break though, with Scott Sinclair and Stuart Armstrong finding the net either side of Dembele’s hat-trick goal.

Factor in a debut red card for defender Philippe Senderos, and it was a completely dismal afternoon for Rangers fans, with the defeat putting their title aspirations into question even so early into the campaign.
On Sunday, goalkeeper Wes Foderingham – who watched on as Celtic found the net at will with the defenders in front of him all over the place – took to Twitter to offer a message to supporters.

Foderingham offered an apology to fans by saying that they deserve so much better than Rangers’ showing against Celtic, as do the club as a whole.
After posting the message, Rangers fans offered their own messages of support to the goalkeeper, suggesting that he wasn’t at fault for the goals conceded, but the defenders in front of him were.
