Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham has been linked with Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday, but the Gers goalkeeper has made it clear on social networking site Twitter that he is staying at Ibrox.
A recent report in The Scottish Sun claimed that Foderingham is set to leave Rangers at the end of the season, with Forest and Wednesday in the Championship in England reported to be monitoring his situation.
Foderingham subsequently stated on Twitter that he is not leaving Rangers in the summer transfer window, and it is the best decision the 27-year-old could have taken in regard to his future.
Foderingham is the first-choice goalkeeper at Rangers, and there is no reason whatsoever for him to switch clubs in the summer transfer window.
The arrival of Allan McGregor at Ibrox, as reported by The Scottish Sun, would give him competition for the first-team spot, but that is no reason to leave a massive and well-supported club like Rangers.
Forest and Wednesday are big teams in the Championship, but both the Reds and the Owls endured a disappointing 2017-18 campaign.
Rangers could finish second in the Scottish Premiership this season and could well challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for the title in 2018-19, and Foderingham is right to remain at Ibrox and be part of the Gers’ team.
