Glasgow Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham had been linked with the Ibrox exit this summer.

Wes Foderingham has taken to Twitter to quash reports coming from The Scottish Sun which had suggested that he is planning to leave Rangers at the end of the season with the Gers looking to bring Allan McGregor back to Ibrox.

The Scottish Sun reported earlier this week that McGregor’s probable return to the club during the summer had left a major question mark lingering over the 26-year-old’s future with the Light Blues, with Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday interested in bringing him back to England.

Foderingham has been the Gers’ undisputed number one ever since he arrived at the club back in 2016, making well over 100 appearances for Rangers in all competitions. So he would certainly be forgiven for considering his options amid reports that McGregor will be arriving from Hull City six years after he initially left the Scottish Premiership side.

However, the Englishman has quashed the suggestion that he may be on the move at the end of the season as he responded to a fan who was demanding answers in the wake of the reports.

Of course, his outlook on his situation may well change in the coming months. Foderingham will surely not want to be an understudy at this stage of his career, and if McGregor does arrive and does assume the number one position, it will be difficult for the club to stand in his way if he has decent offers from elsewhere.

With Graeme Murty’s contract up this summer, he must know that he will not get emphatic clarity over his position until the club have confirmed who will be in charge next term and they have made a decision on who will start the campaign as the side’s number one.
