Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers romped to a comfortable win on Friday.
Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham has admitted to the club’s official website that team-mate Ross McCrorie deserves a bit of criticism for his penalty concession in Friday’s win at Hamilton Academical.
The Gers stepped up to alleviate some of the pressure on manager Pedro Caixinha with an excellent come-from-behind victory.
Two first-half goals from Declan John and another from Daniel Candeias helped Rangers into a 3-1 lead at the break, after conceding within the opening minute.
Graham Dorrans added a fourth for Rangers on the hour mark, before Foderingham saved a 71st-minute penalty from Rakish Bingham after 19-year-old McCrorie fouled Botti Biabi.
But although the Gers stopper said that the young defender thanked him for getting him of the hook, Foderingham admitted it was a “poor” decision from the youngster – who impressed in last week’s defeat by Celtic – to make the challenge in the first place.
He told Rangers’ website: “I’ve obviously dug Ross out of a bit of a hole there, so he thanked me when he got into the dressing room.
“He did really well at the weekend and he did brilliantly well again tonight.
“It was just a poor decision at that moment in time, but he will learn. He’s young and he’s done fantastically well.”
