Rangers selling Wes Foderingham in January could provide Steven Gerrard’s side with a solution for what to do with one of their most promising youngsters.

Goalkeeper Robby McCrorie is one of Rangers’ top prospects, yet finds his path blocked at Ibrox.

He began the season as Rangers’ fourth choice goalkeeper. Foderingham leaving could promote him to number two, with Jak Alnwick out on loan at Scunthorpe.

The Express reported this week that Leeds United are keen on signing Foderingham.

As Rangers’ recent number one for three seasons, if not Leeds, then there will likely be other clubs chasing the shot stopper in January.

If he leaves, this will put McCrorie in line to back up Allan McGregor.

Rangers should not recall Alnwick or sign another goalkeeper, they should stick by McCrorie and let him get the experience and play when possible.

The 20-year-old is a Scotland youth international and starred on loan at Berwick last season.

There is a big step up to playing for Rangers, but at this point he deserves a chance to be number two if the opportunity comes his way.
