Glasgow Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham is into his third season at Ibrox.
Speaking to Rangers’ official website during a press conference, goalkeeper Wes Foderingham can see no reason why he wouldn’t be at Ibrox in the long term.
The 26-year-old signed a one-year contract extension with the Gers this week in a move which could keep him in Glasgow until 2020.
The former Swindon Town goalkeeper joined Rangers under Mark Warburton in 2015 and has since helped the Scottish giants to Premiership promotion, as well as playing a role in their Europa League return in spite of it being a shortlived venture.
Pedro Caixinha replaced Warburton in March and it was the Portuguese’s first transfer window as manager during the summer. The 46-year-old sold or loaned out eight players signed by his predecessor during the off-season but, despite speculation, Foderingham wound up staying.
However, the English keeper is at Rangers for the long run if his recent comments are anything to go by, refusing to even rule out the prospect of hanging up his gloves at the club.
Asked during a press conference via Rangers’ official website whether he could finish his career at Ibrox, he said: “I don’t see why not. It’s a brilliant club. It’s a club with a history of playing their football in Europe and hopefully when we get back there I’ll be here.”
Rangers host Premiership leaders Celtic at Ibrox on Saturday.
