Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Sky News revealed that Daniel Kretinsky is close to buying a big stake in West Ham.

What’s the story?

Well, things could be about to get even better for West Ham, and the Tottenham supporters seem envious.

Sky News reveal that the Czech-based billionaire is in advanced talks to purchase a 27% stake in the Hammers.

The investment could also lead to a full takeover, as financiers believe the deal is expected to include an option to take full control of West Ham after an unspecified period.

Kretinsky’s investment is set to take West Ham’s value up to a sum in the region of £600m – £700m.

Sky News add that the transaction could be announced as early as the first weekend of November.

Kretinsky is the largest shareholder in Royal Mail, and is also the second-largest shareholder in Sainsbury’s.

At the moment, West Ham are acting like a substantially bigger club than Tottenham, on the field as well as away from it.

The east Londoners have just secured planning permission to increase their capacity to 62,500, and could soon be rid of David Gold and David Sullivan, two men who aren’t very popular at the London Stadium, to say the least.

West Ham are also sitting pretty in fourth place in the Premier League, while they also top Group H in the Europa League.

In Tottenham’s case, fans are still stuck with the unwanted Daniel Levy and Joe Lewis, while they are partaking in the Conference League.

It’s hard to believe Spurs were the ones in a Champions League final as recently as 2019.

Nevertheless, let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about West Ham after the news about Kretinsky emerged…
