Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after hearing that the Premier League have chosen Mike Dean to oversee their clash with Brighton.
What’s the story?
Well, the Liverpool fans clearly aren’t too fond of Dean.
One fan claimed that Jürgen Klopp’s side are ‘screwed’ after hearing the 53-year-old would be officiating the game on Saturday.
Another believes that Dean hates the Reds, who host the Seagulls at Anfield as they look to continue their unbeaten start to the season.
There’s no denying that Liverpool have had some bad experiences with Dean in the past.
You may remember he officiated last season’s 1-0 defeat to Burnley at Anfield, in which he awarded the Clarets a controversial late penalty.
Dean also awarded Sheffield United a penalty at Anfield last season, despite the fact Fabinho’s tackle on Oli McBurnie was initially given as a freekick.
Liverpool should still beat Brighton

In our view, the Liverpool fans below are experiencing a bit of recency bias here, as Dean hasn’t actually been too unlucky for them overall.
In nine games under his watchful eye, the Reds have recorded six wins and one draw.
As Transfermarkt shows, Dean has also never sent a Liverpool player off, whether it be for two yellow cards, or a straight red card offence.

Klopp’s men have just recorded back-to-back 5-0 away wins in the Premier League, so in our view, Brighton at Anfield will be a doddle.
Liverpool have gone up a gear this season, and we will be shocked if Graham Potter gets a result this weekend.
For now, let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about Dean…
