Peterborough United and Newcastle United may well meet in pre-season in Portugal, Darragh MacAnthony has revealed on the Hard Truth Podcast.
Newcastle appear to be planning to go to Portugal this summer, as they prepare for next campaign.
Steve Bruce actually wanted to take the Magpies to the Algarve last year but that trip was cancelled due to travel restrictions.
But with lockdown loosening, it seems that Newcastle and Posh could come up against each other in July.
“Portugal in July, I think we’re possibly playing Newcastle, we’re talking to them at the moment. So we’ll have a couple of games in Portugal,” MacAntony said.
Bruce has already confirmed that he is planing for next season at Newcastle.
If they do take on Posh, it could be a good challenge for them over pre-season.
Peterborough are riding the crest of the wave after achieving promotion from League One last term, and should have some new talent on display in the pre-season fixture.
