Ian Poveda has told Instagram Live that Leeds United are going to sign Ben White.
White has enjoyed a wonderful season at Leeds, as he has played a key role in Marcelo Bielsa’s side’s promotion.
White was a mainstay at the back for Leeds, with his performances in central defence catching the eye.
The young defender’s future is now very uncertain though, as Leeds only have him on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Leeds would surely like to make the deal permanent, but Brighton are set to fight to keep one of their prized prospects.
Poveda, however, seems to have confidence that White will be joining him again in Yorkshire next term.
“Yeah, Ben White, we’re going to sign him up – we’re going to sign up everyone,” Poveda said.
Whether the comments were simply made as part of the euphoria of last night or because of inside information is unclear at this stage.
If White does sign for Leeds it would be a huge boost for Bielsa’s side heading into next campaign, as they look to adjust to life back in the top flight.
The Daily Mail claim that Leeds will have to pay £20 million to make White’s transfer a permanent one.
