Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to Erik ten Hag signing a new contract with Ajax.

Ajax have announced this morning that reported Tottenham managerial candidate has decided to sign a new deal and commit his future to the Dutch club until 2023.

This is a massive blow to Spurs chairman Daniel Levy in his quest to appoint the 51-year-old as the permanent successor to Jose Mourinho.

According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham are interested in appointing the Dutchman as the manager this summer.

The report has claimed that the 51-year-old is willing to take charge of the North London club.

However, the latest on Ten Hag is that he has signed a new contract with Spurs.

Below is how some Tottenham fans have reacted to the breaking news on Twitter.

Blow for Tottenham Hotspur

Ten Hag deciding to commit his future to Ajax means that Spurs will now have to start looking for a new candidate to replace Mourinho.

Ryan Mason is in his charge of Spurs at the moment, but it is unlikely that Levy will hand him the managerial role on a full-time basis this summer.

According to The Sun, Tottenham chairman Levy has decided to end the pursuit of Brendan Rodgers.

Levy wants to appoint Leicester City manager Rodgers as the permanent successor to Mourinho, according to the report in the British tabloid.

However, the total cost in appointing the 48-year-old former Liverpool and Celtic boss is reportedly too expensive for Spurs.

It will be interesting to see who Levy now targets.
