Some Aston Villa fans on social media have been reacting after James Ward-Prowse signed a new contract with Southampton.
The midfielder had been linked with a move to Aston Villa for quite some time, but sadly for the Villa fanbase, it seems as though he won’t be joining the Midlands club.
Ward-Prowse would undoubtedly have been a great addition to Dean Smith’s side, but now the Villans will need to look elsewhere.
They’ll struggle to find a player who can bring what Ward-Prowse would have brought to the team, but that’s a job Johan Lange now needs to embrace.
As you can imagine, the fanbase weren’t best pleased to hear that Ward-Prowse has agreed a deal to stay at St Mary’s, and it’s not hard to understand why.
There’s an element of frustration at Villa after the departure of Jack Grealish, and an opening day loss to Watford certainly hasn’t helped matters either.
