Some Everton fans on social media have been waxing-lyrical about Abdoulaye Doucoure after his performance against Burnley.
The French midfielder was on top form on Monday evening. He grabbed two assists, taking his tally to four for the season and if it weren’t for a tight call, he’d have had a goal of his own against the Clarets.
Doucoure has been utterly brilliant this season. He’s been playing in a more advanced role under Rafa Benitez, and the Toffees have been benefitting from his increased influence further up the pitch.
His numbers speak for themselves, one goal and three assists in four games is an unbelievable return for a player who was largely used as a defensive player last term.
Everton fans have been drooling over Doucoure’s metamorphosis into an attack-minded ace, and it seems as though Benitez has truly unlocked the midfielder’s talents.
