One very concerning statistic has emerged for Tottenham before the north London derby against Arsenal tomorrow.
As highlighted by The Telegraph‘s Matt Law, Joe Hart may have to start against the Gunners as doubts remain over Hugo Lloris’ fitness.
However, the bad news involves Hart. Again highlighted by Law, the former Manchester City shot-stopper hasn’t made a single Premier League appearance since December 2018 – nearly two years ago.
Even more worrying is the fact that the England international shipped five goals in that game, which ended in a 5-1 win for Everton against Burnley at Turf Moor.
Admittedly, Hart has been able to keep himself sharp by appearing in the Europa League on six occasions so far this season, which makes the statistic less concerning.
However, his absence from England’s top-flight, and lack of starring form for any club since Pep Guardiola exiled him, is a worry.
A quartet of Tottenham fans reacted to the statistic on Twitter, with one under the impression that Spurs are ‘doomed’ if Hart starts.
While four-time Golden Glove winner Hart is more than capable of doing the job on his day, it would be a shame to see Lloris sit this one out.
The France international has been very good under Jose Mourinho this term, conceding just nine goals in ten Premier League appearances.
Lloris has also kept four clean sheets from those ten outings.
