Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to new speculation regarding Dejan Lovren.
According to BBC Sport, Liverpool plan to extend Lovren’s contract until 2022.
It has been reported that the newly-crowned Premier League champions plan to take up an option to extend the Croatia international central defender’s contract by another year.
The report has claimed that the Reds will trigger the option if they are unable to sell him before the summer transfer window closes.
Zenit Saint Petersburg are reported to be interested in securing the services of the 31-year-old former Lyon and Southampton central defender.
The 31-year-old has been on the books of Liverpool since 2014, and has helped the Merseyside outfit win the Champions League and the Premier League.
According to WhoScored, the defender has made nine starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League and played thrice in the Champions League for the Reds this season.
Lovren has made mistakes from time to time, and some Liverpool are not happy that the club reportedly plan to extend his current contract which runs out in the summer of 2021, as shown in the following posts on Twitter.
