Raheem Sterling has struggled for form recently with Manchester City, however, the winger was able to remind doubters last night of his talent after bagging a goal in the UEFA Champions League.
The attacker came on in the second half. And within minutes, Sterling was on the scoresheet as the England international as City secured a 4-1 win over Club Brugge at the Etihad.
Indeed, it was only Sterling’s second goal of the season in all competitions as the 26-year-old forward has struggled to replicate his form with England over the summer.
Moreover, the attacker has been dropped to the bench on some occasions. With Pep Guardiola favouring Gabriel Jesus out on the right-wing, the position Sterling has played his most productive football.
Yet last night was a good cameo for Sterling, and his goal highlighted how impressive the winger can be when played in the right area and surrounded by the correct players.
The attacker’s future with City is uncertain. Yet Sterling’s goal last night could send a message to Guardiola that he deserves to play out on the right of the attack.
Man City fans can’t believe Sterling goal
