The Lyon midfielder is reportedly a player the Magpies are very keen on.
The Tyneside club have bid for the Ligue 1 star, and he’s apparently now their top midfield target.
Newcastle have been linked with a number of midfielders this month such as Jesse Lingard and Dele Alli, but it seems as though some Brazilian flair could be coming to St James’ Park.

Guimaraes has been one of the stars of Ligue 1 for quite some time now, and he would add some much-needed stability and creativity to the Magpies’ midfield.
Newcastle’s midfield is something of a weak spot at the moment, but Guimaraes would certainly bolster that area for Eddie Howe.
Of course, there’s no guarantee that Guimaraes would be a star for United. After all, midfielders from Ligue 1 have been rather hit and miss in recent years, just look at the likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Jean Michael Seri as recent examples at Tottenham and Fulham respectively.
