Arsene Wenger has claimed he wants to sign more Germans, so who could be incoming?
Arsenal’s German revolution is looking as key to their future success as the French impact was to their previous golden generations of talent.
Ahead of Arsenal’s Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund tonight, manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed he wants to sign more German players.
He said: “I can imagine, yes of course… Because Germany produces a lot of good players…” Asked who, he responded, “I would like to keep a little secret.”
German newspaper Bild have been speculating as to who the potential signings could be, and put forward 7 exciting names who they believe Arsenal will be looking at.

Ilkay Gundogan
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder played a key role in the club’s progression to the Champions League Final last season. Injured so far this campaign, he has a high market value and would fit seamlessly into the Gunners’ style of play.
Lars Bender
This one is ambitious, because Bender last week signed a new contract with Bayer Leverkusen and said he wants to play a role in their future. He is however the exact type of defensive midfielder Arsenal need, and it remains to be seen if they will revisit their summer interest in him.
Sebastian Rode
The Eintracht Frankfurt man is another defensive midfielder linked previously with Arsenal, and at one point it was even reported he had agreed a deal to sign for Bayern Munich in the summer. The German under-21 international is also being looked at by Liverpool.
Marco Reus
The jewel of the Dortmund team, Reus has a £30 million release clause in his contract, and is one of the best winger’s in the Bundesliga. His side are trying to negotiate a new deal to remove the clause, so Arsenal should try to move quickly.
Rene Adler
Goalkeeper Rene Adler said recently he could easily have been an Arsenal player but rejected their advances. However in the same interview the 28-year-old Hamburg man said he would be open to a January offer if Arsenal return.

Julian Draxler
Schalke wonderkid Julian Draxler is courted by the top teams across Europe, and has even said Arsenal are a club which would interest him. Whether Arsenal need to pay big money for a playmaker who would complicate life with Ozil is however another matter.
Patrick Herrmann
Borussia Moenchengladbach winger Patrick Herrmann has attracted admiring glances from both Arsenal and Tottenham. The young winger would strengthen Arsenal’s wide options, although the emergence of Serge Gnabry may limit their need for his signature.
