An Arsenal loanee is ripping it up on loan away from North London – and it isn’t William Saliba.
Although Saliba has proven himself a revelation at Marseille since temporarily leaving Arsenal this past summer, another centre-back is also impressing in a big way.
The Gunners loaned Konstantinos Mavropanos to Stuttgart for the 2021-22 campaign.
And the big Greece international is making an impression in the Bundesliga after being named in their Team of the Month for October.
The towering Arsenal defender, who was signed during Arsene Wenger’s reign almost four years ago, clearly has a bright future and at 23, is only going to get much better.
Here’s how some fans of the Emirates Stadium club reacted to this development:
Bargain
The bad news for Arsenal is they’ve already kind of sold the player – and it’s an absolute bargain for the Germans.
Although Mavropanos remains a loanee, Stuttgart have the option to sign him outright next summer if they want to.
And according to The Athletic, Arsenal will only get £5 million which, for a player of his quality, is ridiculously low.
That’s why the suits in North London won’t particularly like to hear that he’s doing so well because the better he does, the more it exposes their transfer error.
