Harry Redknapp has stated that Arsenal’s squad is ‘well short’ of Tottenham’s, as he told his own podcast.
The former Premier League boss also claimed that Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is a ‘proper player’ but Mikel Arteta is still short of a number of players.
As things stand, both Spurs and Arsenal are heading towards finishing outside of the top-seven, but Jose Mourinho will feel his team have a best chance of breaking into a jam-packed European finish.
If that doesn’t work out for the North London duo then they will be hoping to do the business in the Europa League itself.
Nonetheless, Redknapp shared his thoughts on Arsenal’s squad and what Arteta needs.
“What he needs is that he needs good recruitment,” said Redknapp. “They have brought in one very good player recently, the boy Partey, is it? He looks a proper player.
“He’s strong. And he looks just what they need in there. But they need to bring in another three or four. They are well short. And it’s not down to the manager anymore like it used to be.
“Now it’s down to the ‘Head of whatever’. They will bring the players in. So, it’s very much in their hands – he’s relying on somebody’s judgement to bring in good players. Now, the last signing looks a good player.
“They have got some good young players Arsenal. They are well short of a Tottenham squad, for sure.”

Eighth-placed Tottenham are two points ahead of the Gunners and they have a game in hand on their North London rivals.
But during these coming weeks, it can change dramatically, with games coming thick and fast, including a certain North London derby.
Both have struggled for serious consistency this season and questions have been asked of both managers, who have big pressure on their shoulders to end the season in a strong fashion.
