Reported Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United target Nikola Milenkovic has refused to commit his future to Fiorentina amid suggestions that a departure is imminent, while speaking to Radio Bruno, via CalcioNews24.

When it comes to the future of their influential centre-back, Fiorentina are determined to call the shots.

Milenkovic is out of contract in 2022 and La Viola have made it clear that, if he decides against signing an extension, the 26-time Serbia international will be sold before his value depreciates further.

“We will try to renew Milenkovic’s contract and, if he doesn’t accept, we will sell next year,” sporting director Daniele Prade explained back in October.

Three months on, Milenkovic has still not signed a new deal.

And his apparent reluctance to stay for the long haul at the Stadio Artemio Franchi has not gone unnoticed with Tottenham sending a proposal to his agent, Fali Ramadani, a few weeks ago (La Nazione).

“We will see the rest at the end of the season,” Milenkovic said in midweek, seemingly ruling out a January departure but opening the door to a summer exit.

“We only have to think about the match in Turin (against Torino on Friday). I feel good in Florence, I have always been very well received.

“But, I repeat, we will talk about this (my future) at the end of the season.”

West Ham United failed with a £27 million bid for the towering Milenkovic towards the end of the summer window but may be tempted to renew their interest.

Especially with La Nazione claiming that Fiorentina are now willing to accept closer to £23 million.
