Gary Lineker has praised Aston Villa star Jack Grealish after he commented on the situation involving himself and Mason Mount in Gareth Southgate’s England set-up.
Southgate has previously struggled to get the Villans No.10 involved in his lineup while playing Chelsea’s Mount, despite Grealish performing better than the ex-Derby man in the Premier League right now.
Speaking after England’s 3-0 win over the Republic of Ireland, the Villa captain said: ‘I love Mason, it’s a bit annoying actually as he gets a bit of stick for it, I’ve always been close with Mase, I don’t even think we are fighting for the same spot.’
After hearing what the Birmingham-born playmaker said, Lineker tweeted: ‘Well said @JackGrealish. 2 wonderfully talented and very different footballers. Plenty of room for both in the side.’
It’s refreshing to see comments such as Grealish’s.

Some other players might’ve decided to leave that type of question to the manager, but with the 25-year-old saying Mount has received some stick over the debate, it was best he came out and set the record straight like he now has.
In truth, it’s bizarre that Southgate has been so reluctant to play Grealish given the attacking midfielder’s stupendous form.

The Villa star has five goals and six assists in just eight games across all competitions, which is simply incredible.
Not even Kevin De Bruyne, arguably the best midfielder in the world, has achieved those numbers so far this term.
The Belgian has one goal and seven assists in ten games this season.
