Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to react after watching footage of Arsenal players helping out local business on Sky Sports.

What’s the story?

Well, this is quite brilliant from Mikel Arteta’s squad.

As a result of the ongoing global pandemic, local businesses have been hit hard as COVID-19 forced people into lockdown, while jobs have also been lost.

In an attempt to help people get back on their feet, the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Emile Smith Rowe and Rob Holding have starred in adverts to help shine the spotlight on these businesses.

The trio star in three separate adverts for businesses all owned by Arsenal fans, including barbers as well as bars.

After hearing what the Arsenal players had done, Lineker took to Twitter to shower them in praise – you can see his tweet in full below.

Well played indeed.

Arsenal are a footballing giant, with over 18m followers on Twitter – it’s indescribable as to how much these adverts could help businesses.

Every Premier League club should copy Arsenal

Why aren’t more Premier League clubs doing this?

It’s quite a straightforward idea, and would generate an immense amount of publicity for struggling businesses who need the exposure.

The likes of Christian Benteke should be promoting those struggling in south London, Adama Traore for those in the Midlands, and Raphinha in Yorkshire.

It is a fantastic idea, and clubs from Spain, Italy and Germany should also be doing it – fair play to the Gunners.

Hopefully, those businesses involved have seen a huge rise in revenue, which is exactly what they need after a couple of devastating years.
