Dario Osorio has been encouraged to leave Universidad de Chile by team-mate Emmanuel Ojeda with Wolves looking to bring the so-called ‘new Angel di Maria’ to the Premier League, speaking to Radio Agricultura.

South American publication TNT Sport go as far as to claim that Wolverhampton Wanderers have already agreed a £4 million deal for Osorio; The gleaming jewel of Chilean football, and the jewel in his nation’s crown.

Osorio doesn’t even turn 19 until January. But the spring-heeled winger has already caught the eye of Real Madrid, Manchester City and more, all the while forcing his way into Chile’s national team.

And Universidad midfielder Ojeda knows from experience that opportunities like this do not come around every day.

“I find Dario to be a very good player. I see very good things in him,” Ojeda says.

“When there is an opportunity to go (to Europe), you have to do it. I didn’t, and later you regret it. You have to look for other experiences.

“He is a very good player. A gem. If he has to go, we will miss him. But it is what he has to do.”

Are Wolves signing the new Angel di Maria in Dario Osorio?

Explosive, unpredictable and deliciously direct, is Osario really the second coming of Di Maria?. The teenager can play on both flanks and through the middle, posing a threat in pretty much every position. He’s already earned a reputation for long-range blockbusters too.

“Does he have similarities with Di Maria? I hadn’t thought about it but yes,” Ojeda muses.

“I know his (Di Maria’s) story. If Dario gets psyched up, he can (follow in Di Maria’s footsteps). He has all the conditions.”

Osorio, if he arrives, would become Wolves’ second signing of the summer. Nathan Collins completed his £20 million move to Molineux from relegated Burnley this week.

Wolves are also in talks for Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos. But Iberia’s answer to Thomas Muller also has admirers at Paris Saint-Germain.
