‘We’ll get Champions League’: Some Spurs fans react to latest claim after Old Trafford drama

Tottenham fans on Twitter have reacted to the Mirror’s report that Manchester United could be ‘deducted points’ after their Premier League encounter with Liverpool was postponed on Sunday.

As Spurs prepared for their late evening game against Sheffield United, it was going off at Old Trafford, with Manchester United fans making their feelings clear towards the Glazers ahead of their clash against Liverpool.

In the end, after a long delay, the game was postponed, with Spurs providing the entertainment on the pitch later on that evening as they put four past the relegated Blades.

But in regards to Manchester United v Liverpool being postponed, the Mirror claim that points could now be deducted, although the Premier League and FA rules ‘contradict’ one another on postponements.

Whilst this fixture is the biggest in English football, in terms of importance, Liverpool needed the points more because they are fighting for those top-four spots.

With Tottenham’s win yesterday, they move above the Reds, two points clear, but having played a game extra.

Of course, Spurs fans would love to see a points deduction, but many think it would be unfair because only a small section are to blame for the game not going ahead.

There were largely peaceful protests from the Man United fans, who for not months or years, but over a decade have become sick and tired of how their club has been run.
