Celtic have snapped up Fulham striker Moussa Dembele.
Moussa Dembele celebrates scoring for Fulham
Celtic signed Fulham striker Moussa Dembele on Tuesday evening – and former Bhoys defender Adam Virgo has raved about the signing.
Dembele, 19, is a former Paris Saint-Germain youngster who starred in the Championship last season, terrorising defences alongside Fulham team-mate and Scotland international Ross McCormack.

With 17 goals in all competitions, Dembele enjoyed a stunning season for the Cottagers, and his exploits in front of goal triggered major interest in his signature – especially given that his contract with Fulham was set to expire in a matter of days.
Despite a number of clubs being keen, it’s Celtic who have snapped Dembele up, and have taken advantage of a contractual loophole.
With Dembele leaving England for Scotland, Celtic have to pay a fraction of the compensation fee an English club would have had to, and STV claim that Celtic have paid around £500,000 for the Frenchman.

Dembele appears to be the perfect signing for Celtic, and after Colin Kazim-Richards, Stefan Scepovic and Carlton Cole all left Glasgow this summer, he will get the chance to compete with leading goalscorer Leigh Griffiths whilst developing under Brendan Rodgers.
The new Celtic boss made Dembele his first signing in the job, and one former Bhoys defender is delighted with Rodgers’ move to sign the teenage striker.

Adam Virgo, who played for Celtic between 2005 and 2008, is currently working as a Football League pundit for Channel 5, and took to Twitter to discuss Dembele’s move to Glasgow.
Virgo saw plenty of Dembele last season, and believes he’s a ‘great signing’ for Celtic, noting his blistering pace – and ultimately praised Rodgers for getting the deal done despite rival interest.
