Chris Sutton has told BBC Radio 5 Live’s 606 that there will be ‘debate’ until Marcelo Bielsa signs a new deal after his claims the Leeds man could head to Tottenham.
The former striker was pulled up on his comments he made about the Leeds boss possibly joining Spurs by his fellow pundit, Robbie Savage.
Whilst Spurs are searching for a new manager, it seems as though Bielsa, whose contract ends this summer, will pen a new contract, according to the Mirror.
Even if Spurs wanted Bielsa, and there hasn’t been any indication from the national papers that they do, then it would be a surprise to see Bielsa swap Yorkshire for North London.
Nonetheless, this is what Sutton and Savage had to say about Bielsa’s future at Elland Road.
“Where can Bielsa, if he signs a new deal, take Leeds,” asked. Sutton.
Savage responded: “Your sources last week said that he is going to go to Spurs?”
“Well, there’s a bit of debate,” Sutton responded. “Until he signs a new deal.
“But I was reliably informed that he signed his new deal at the start of this season, two days before the Liverpool fixture, which was an eye-opener.
“Until he signs a new deal, he has done such a good job at Leeds. He’s going to be sought-after, isn’t he?”

Now that Bielsa has guided Leeds to a top-ten finish, the next stop will be repeating that feat and possibly reaching Europe.
It does seem as though Leeds fans will get another season of Bielsa and whether he leaves next season or in five years time, he will forever be a legend in Yorkshire.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if a statue is built of the Argentinian once he leaves because of what he has done for the club.
From a team struggling in England’s second-tier to a team now pushing the big boys once again in England’s top-flight.
