Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left extremely excited after their links with Merih Demiral stepped up a notch today.

Football London suggest that Tottenham are keen on the Juventus defender, and they could make a move before deadline day.

Milan Skriniar is believed to remain Tottenham’s first choice, but Demiral is now a genuine back-up option for Jose Mourinho’s side.

And most Spurs fans feel that Demiral could be a cracking addition to their side.

Demiral has not quite managed to break into Juventus’s team on a regular basis, but he is still highly regarded.

The Turkish international is physically imposing, defensive disciplined and could fit in well with Mourinho’s preferred style of play.

Tottenham already have a number of centre-back options available to them, but they are yet to replace Jan Vertonghen, and signing a defender is their last remaining wish this summer.
