The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder could be linking up with Wolverhampton Wanderers adviser Jorge Mendes.

News that Tottenham Hotspur’s Dele Alli is in talks to join Jorge Mendes’ agency has prompted an excited reaction from Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters on Twitter.

Mendes enjoys a close working relationship with Wolves’ owners and has several high-profile clients – including manager Nuno Espirito Santo and key men Helder Costa, Ivan Cavaleiro and Ruben Neves – on the books at Molineux.

And some Wolves fans are joking (at least we think they’re joking) that Alli could be next, if Mendes gets his hands on the Tottenham and England attacking midfielder.

Here’s what they’re saying on Twitter:

Other Mendes clients include Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, Barcelona’s Angel Gomes and Nelson Semedo, Ederson, Bernardo Silva, Nicolas Otamendi and Eliaquim Mangala of Manchester City, and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.

And the likelihood is that were Alli to leave Tottenham, it would be to one of those four clubs.

However, with Wolves on course to make a Premier League return next season, Alli to Molineux may not seem such a ridiculous shout a few years down the line.
