Graham Roberts has congratulated Sergio Reguilon on his debut for Tottenham Hotspur.
The Spanish left-back made his bow for Spurs in last night’s League Cup win over Chelsea.
And despite a rocky start to the game, culminating in being partially responsible for Timo Werner firing the visitors ahead, it was a pretty solid debut for Reguilon.
The Tottenham new boy produced a very decent first display for the Lilywhites and also set up Erik Lamela’s equaliser in the final quarter.
Here’s how Roberts responded to his post-match tweet last night:
Early days but if Reguilon replicates that standard of performance on a regular basis this season then he has to be considered a wonderful addition.
Chelsea were hardly bang in form before the visit to Tottenham, but they still have more than enough players to damage Jose Mourinho’s side and Reguilon gave a very good account of himself in defence.
It’ll be a battle between him and Ben Davies to see who Mourinho’s first-choice option at left-back is, and the former Real Madrid man, on this evidence, could edge him.
