Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after Patrick van Aanholt tweeted a compliment in the direction of Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

After watching Leeds snatch a point against Liverpool, the Dutchman tweeted that maybe Bielsa’s men should be the ones involved a Super League.

You can see the Crystal Palace defender’s tweet below.

Interestingly, Van Aanholt has actually been linked with a move to Elland Road.

The Mirror revealed that Bielsa is keen on a summer swoop for the 30-year-old, whose contract at Selhurst Park expires in June.

Ezgjan Alioski has featured largely at left-back this season, but his contract also expires in June, so Van Aanholt could end up being his replacement.

If Leeds do sign the £12 million man, at least they’ll be getting an experienced presence at the back.

Van Aanholt has racked up 211 Premier League appearances throughout his career, across spells at Chelsea, Wigan, Sunderland and Palace.

Impressively for a left-back, he has 20 goals and 15 assists in that time.

Van Aanholt also has 44 clean sheets from these games.

In Bielsa’s system, which encourages the full-backs to fly forward, the Eagles No.3 could thrive in Yorkshire if he joins.

Let’s see what the Leeds fans on Twitter have been saying about Van Aanholt’s tweet…
